Haifa Sketches into Paintings

Since 2022, Mount Carmel in Haifa has made my heart sing as a new homeowner in a very old neighborhood. I love that there are more trees than houses. I love that almost anywhere I look, there’s an open vista, green and flowers and far as the eyes can see, views down to the port, or mountain steps to climb. In the scenes that I paint, I want to capture the surprise element of Haifa. It’s unpredictable. Everywhere are bursts of colors, little surprises to lift the spirit. When I’m back home in my studio, I want to preserve that energy, that liveliness that comes from the source of Mount Carmel.
