Liane Wakabayashi has been writing for publication since she was a graduate student at Columbia University in the early 1980s. Her wealth of writing experience covers feature stories about the arts, unusual people in the creativity, healing and spiritual growth fields, book reviews, travel essays and more. She understands the struggle with the pen but also knows that "anything is possible for the writer with passion for a subject." The creation of the Genesis Way cards and system of tapping creativity grew out of nine years of teaching creative writing to more than 350 students. Among her former students are several award-winning writers, including The Earthquake Bird's best-selling author, Susanna Jones, the UK award-winning writer Aoi Matsushima, and others who have gone on to success writing for newspaper and magazines.
Do you want to become better at recording your travel experiences, or do you feel that it's time to see your travel-writing in print? Liane Wakabayashi has been writing travel stories for ANA Wingspan and other publications for more than 12 years. In this workshop she guides you toward becoming a wiser traveler, and consequently, a more satisfied writer. To be covered: choosing topics--or how topics choose you, best-kept secrets, ordinary people with extraordinary stories, uncommon slants to common destinations, and more.
Mother Artist, Mother WriterFrom day to day our children teach us, awaken us, giving us realizations and moments that we want to record forever. Here in this workshop you can take time out to put down your words, your thoughts, your artistic inspiration in an inspirational setting joined by likeminded parents. Our starting point for drawing and then writing about the mothering experience is the Genesis Cards, which help us focus on what right now is precious in our lives.
